
Indulgent cacao ganache tart recipe- Gf, DF, refined sugar free
| December 18, 2018Food should not be feared, I want to inspire you to create healthy/healthier equivalents of your favourite things. Given I have a massive sweet tooth, it won’t be any surprise that the first recipe i’m sharing in this feature is a cacao dessert!
This recipe is GF, DF, can easily be made Vegan and is refined sugar free….so that’s what it’s not, what it IS is delicious, high in good fats and magnesium!
Tart crust:
1/4 cup of cacao powder
1/4 cup of oat flour (you can simply blitz up GF oats in a food processor).
1 TBSP Coconut sugar/ lakanto or equivalent
1 TBSP maple syrup/raw honey
1 TBSP coconut oil, melted
Pinch of salt
Combine all ingredients in a food processor. If necessary, add more coconut oil to combine. Press into torte pan and chill to set.
Cacao ganache:
3 TBSP maple syrup/raw honey
3 TBSP cacao powder
2 TBSP coconut oil, melted
Pinch of salt
Whisk everything together in a bowl until well combined. The ganache should appear glossy.
Pour in torte pan once base has set and chill again to set ganache.
Nut free caramel sauce (optional):
1 cup maple syrup/raw honey
1 TSP lemon juice
1 TSP maca powder
1 TBSP coconut sugar or equivalent
2 TBSP coconut oil
Combine everything in a blender, adding coconut oil last to emulsify. Store in a squeeze bottle and use to decorate torte before serving.
